Jenna Fischer was best known for her portrayal of Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) on TV. The role she played has earned her an Emmy nomination for best supporting Actress category and she also was awarded two SAG Awards, both for extraordinary performances on the cast of a comedy.
Anne, her mother, performed in church plays while she was a kid, which instilled a love of performance and theater in Jenna. Jenna's mom Anne often performed in church dramas in her younger years which sparked an enthusiasm for theatre.
An actress trained in theater, Fischer returned to her roots following the completion of The Office. She starred in the Off-Broadway production Reasons to Be Happy which was written and directed by Neil LaBute and co-starring Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb, as well as Fred Weller. At the Old Globe Theatre's world premiere, She starred opposite Greg Germann as well as Josh Stamberg in Steve Martin's comical comedy Meteor Shower.
In the month of October, Fischer and The Office cast-mate and real-life best friend Angela Kinsey began an online podcast called Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform. The podcast has since been a huge success, landing within the Top Ten globally every week and registering more than 200 million downloads in the first two years. Office Ladies took home the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year award in January 2021.
She has written two books, The Actor's Life A Survival Guide that outlines her path to Hollywood as a working actor, and Office BFF's, Tales of The Office From Two Best Friends that Were There an account of the most memorable friendship they had and their time in The Office.
