April Lockhart

April Lockhart was born on July 4 1995 The seventh grade was when she began playing guitar and taking piano lessons, sparking her passion for writing songs. At the age of 12 April wrote her very first song Different. When she was 14, April spent lots of time writing lyrics and perfecting her musicianship abilities. Over the next few months she would begin taking trips to write with her father in LA and NY. April started to incorporate additional relevant subjects into the Take my Hand song for some of her friends, like peer-pressure problems and teenage suicide. Lockhart is a lifestyle and beauty influencer with a growing fan base. Lockhart is associated with the renowned brand Ilia together, along with being a life expert. Her disability is a part of her character, but it's not the entire of the picture. Lockhart's Instagram profile doesn't hide her disability but doesn't only focus on it. What message is it trying to convey? that we are all a part of a multitude that our identities are complex and that we are more than our physical selves. Lockhart has stated on video she didn't want to be defined by her disability. The woman doesn't intend to become an advocate for disabled people one who focuses only on it. There are many different aspects to Lockhart. My daily life isn't affected by it. I go about my regular day-to-day life and discover my own solutions to issues. Because it's also a component of my identity I think it's worthy of discussion. Her journey to self-acceptance is a journey that's going to last many years, yet she can be a role model in this regard. Lockhart admits to having had periods where she felt insecure about the way she dressed and revealed her arms. She wears whatever she wants and proudly shares photos of herself wearing the clothes she wears on social media. Self-love, she says is a journey. I'm not sure if you'll ever reach the end. It's true for all, no matter what their level of insecurity. It's essential to have those within your circle who understand and are able to understand. They'll be able to remind you about the issues you're concerned about.
